Our story

In the heart of Kumeū, Auckland, Ester grew Include Microgreens from one simple but powerful idea: everyone deserves the opportunity to contribute, learn, and thrive through meaningful work.

We are a small, community-based microgreens grower with a big purpose. As a Work Integration Social Enterprise (WISE), our mission goes beyond producing beautiful, nutrient-dense greens and edible flowers. We exist to create supported employment pathways for people with learning disabilities and others who face barriers to traditional employment.

Growing More Than Greens

Microgreens are small, vibrant, and full of life, which reflects our team here at Include. Microgreens require care, attention, and consistency to flourish. So do people.

We chose microgreens and edible flowers because they are hands-on, skill-building crops. From sowing seeds and nurturing growth to harvesting, packing, and delivering orders, every step provides practical work experience, teamwork, and confidence-building opportunities.

Rooted in Community

Being based in Kumeū means we are deeply connected to our local community. We grow fresh microgreens and edible flowers for local households, cafés, caterers, and restaurants — often to order, ensuring freshness and reducing waste.

When you purchase from Include Microgreens, you’re not just buying produce. You’re supporting:

  • Inclusive employment

  • Local food systems

  • Community development

  • Real-world training opportunities

Your regular orders help create consistent, supported work for our team — and that consistency makes all the difference.

Fresh, Local, Purpose-Driven

Our greens are harvested fresh, packed with nutrients, and grown with care. But what truly sets us apart is our purpose.

At Include Microgreens, we believe inclusion should be cultivated, not just talked about. We are proud to grow food that nourishes people, and opportunities that empower them.

From our trays to your table — thank you for helping us grow something that matters.

“Include Microgreens isn’t just about growing greens — it’s about growing confidence, skills, and opportunities. Their work experience programme makes a real difference for people who face barriers to employment, and their microgreens and edible flowers are super nutritious and beautifully presented.”
